This song was inspired by the work of Elizabeth Keith, a Scottish artist whose works have been significantly influenced by her travels to Korea from 1919 to 1940. Old Korea depicted in the colored western painting seems marvelous and mysterious. The scattered pieces of memory seem feeble as the flapping wings of a butterfly, but I wish the memory be restored in the name of love...
Master Wolha Kim¡¯s voice at the beginning also overlaps with this beautiful memory.

A fast tempo variation of Yeombul Taryeong, a piece from Gyeonggi Daepungnyu, is called Ban-yeombul. This piece is an even faster variation of Ban-yeombul, so it delivers 3-3-2 eighths in eight-eight measure. Melody from women¡¯s gagok was added to the piece, while efforts were made to deliver modern sounds using only traditional Korean instruments. In the intro part, geomungo melody from gagok Taepyeonga was also utilized.

Mojukjirangga is a representative 8-line hyangga composed by Deuk-o in the Silla Dynasty. Based on a folktale of Jukjirangjo in Samguk Yusa, the song carries a special meaning and historical significance as it depicts a story of hwarang. This piece is a song of Deuk-o, who admired Jukjirang, a great veteran Hwarang. Here, Deuk-o laments the spring seasons that passed and the elegance of Jukjirang that was fading while expressing his longing for the past. Similar feelings of sadness and yearning also exist for the piece itself whose lyrics only remain without the music. Thinking about things disappearing and things to be brought back to life, the music was composed to the remaining lyrics.

This is a modern interpretation of Gwansanyungma. The original song has lyrics based on a poem by Gwangsoo Shin in 1746. Unlike the original piece, this song only contains four lines out of 38. The first and the second line feature tradition melody played by a piano and an electric guitar, while the third and the four lines present lyrics translated into modern Korean language with a new tune.

I cannot forget how much I was moved when I first read the text from Isaiah 54:10, under the guidance of Rev. Seongcheol Lee, who is also my mentor. That message, that the lord who created the nature and man listens
and pities us. Along with the bible text, passages from the book ¡°Sujeong Lee, a pioneer of Christianity in Korea,¡± were put together as music to express the touched feeling. The music is our love song for the Lord.
