Hey string
전통음악에 대한 심도 있는 지식을 바탕으로 가야금 기반의 앙상블을 선보여온 Hey String은 전통 주법을 사용하면서, 기존의 장르적 문법을 넘어서는 음악을 선보이고 있다.
3인의 멤버-오지현(25현가야금, 철현금), 김지효(25현가야금, 일렉트로니카), 박지현(25현가야금, 철가야금, 보컬)-가 만들어낸 리듬과 공백 안에서 현과 나무의 울림은 적절히 조화됨으로써, Hey String의 음악은 전통과 아방가르드의 이상적 합의라는 지형 위에 자리한다. 예상을 벗어난 곡의 진행을 통해 모던하고 독특한 사운드를 구현하여 한국 전통음악의 새로운 가능성을 모색하는 동시에 국악의 경계를 확장시켜나가고 있다.
Hey string 2집 [머물다 가는 것]
어떤 이에게 가졌던 찰나의 감정, 공간 또는 사물에 대해 갖고 있는 애정, 무언가에 대해 스치듯 지나간 생각. 이러한 정동은 마음속에서 잠시 머물고 떠난 후에도 잔음으로 남아 우리의 삶이란 노래를 구성한다. 우리에게 머물렀던 것들 중 공유하고 싶은 순간들을 음악적으로 표현하여 두 번째 정규앨범에 담았다. 듣는이의 마음속에 우리의 음악이 잠깐이라도 머물러, 삶에 한 부분으로 자리하기를 바란다.

[Hey String], a unique Gayageum trio band, has been presenting the music pushing the limits of genre with a deep understanding of traditional Korean music.
The three members-Oh Ji-hyun (25strings Gayageum, Cheolhyeongeum), Kim Ji-hyo (25strings Gayageum, Electronica), and Park Ji-hyun (25strings Gayageum, Cheol Gayageum, Vocalist)-harmonize the rhythm and sound of the strings and woods, ideally locating its music on the map which sits on the cross-region between the tradition and the avant-garde. Through the unexpected musical progress and uniquely modern sounds, Hey String explores new possibilities of traditional Korean music and simultaneously expand the boundaries of Korean traditional music.

Affection towards somebody, attachment to personal belongings or space, or quick thoughts concerning something. All these subtle but priceless feelings consist of the symphony of life, as they make echo sounds even after fading away. Among all the things that have once sticked in our own’s minds, we have selectively transcended invaluable moments into music. We wish that our music hopefully stays in your heart for a moment and eventually become a part of your life.
