Ko presents the true beauty of Yeongsanhoesang from a slow music in long breath cycle to the cheerful melodies. The gayageum artist with passion and patience shows firm sounds through her solo performance.

¿µ»êȸ»ó(çÏߣüåßÓ)Àº '¿µ»êȸ»óºÒº¸»ìçÏߣüåßÓÝÖÜÌß±'ÀÇ ÁÙÀθ»·Î, ºÒ±³¿¡¼­ À¯·¡Çß´Ù. À¯±³±¹°¡ÀÎ Á¶¼±¿Õ½Ç¿¡¼­ ºÒ±³°¡»ç¸¦ ³ë·¡ÇÏ´Â ÀÏÀÌ Á¡Â÷ »ç¶óÁö°í, ±â¾ÇÇüÅ·Πº¯ÇÏ¿© ¿¬ÁֵǾú´Ù.

µµµå¸®´Â Çѹ®À¸·Î´Â '¼¼È¯ÀÔá¬ü½ìý'À̶ó ÇÏ°í ¾Æ¸íÀ¸·Î´Â '¼Û±¸¿©Áö°îáëÎúåýñýÍØ'À̶ó ºÎ¸¥´Ù. º¸ÇãÀÚÀÇ ÆÄ»ý°îÀ¸·Î, ¿ø°îÀÎ ¹Øµµµå¸®(¼ö¿¬ÀåÁö°îáøæÅíþñýÍØ)¸¦ ÇÑ ¿ÁŸºê À§·Î º¯ÁÖÇÑ °îÀ¸·Î ÃÑ 7ÀåÀ¸·Î ±¸¼ºµÇ¾î ÀÖ´Ù.

Yeongsanhoesang and Dodeuri
The title ¡°Yeongsanhoesang¡± was originated from a Buddhist phrase ¡°yeongsanhoesang bulbosal.¡± However, the royal court of Joseon Dynasty took Confucianism for its ruling ideology, and thus the vocal music narrating Buddhist idea had lost its text but changed to an instrumental piece. Consequently, the main melody variated in various tempo and register.

Now the music became a suite of nine tunes, including ¡°Sangnyeongsan,¡± ¡°Jungnyeongsan,¡± ¡°Seryeongsan,¡± ¡°Garakdeori,¡± ¡°Sanghyeon dodeuri,¡± ¡°Hahyeon dodeuri,¡± ¡°Yeombul dodeuri,¡± ¡°Taryeong,¡± and ¡°Gunak.¡± It might take more than three hundred years for the music to be completed in the current form.

Dodeuri has many different names, such as ¡°Sehwanip¡± in Classical Chinese and ¡°Songguyeojigok¡± in elegant term. It is one of many variations originated from ¡°Boheoja¡± and the melody was composed by raising ¡°Mitdodeuri¡± (Suyeonjangjigok) an octave higher.

±¹¸³±¹¾Ç¿ø Á¤¾Ç¿¬ÁÖ´Ü ¼ö¼® ¿¬ÁÖÀÚÀÎ °í¿¬Á¤Àº Áö³­ 20¿©³â°£ÀÇ ¿¬ÁÖÈ°µ¿ Áß 1930³â´ë ¿µ»êȸ»ó ±×¸®°í ¹æ»êÇѾ¾±Ýº¸¿¡ ³ªÅ¸³­ ¿µ»êȸ»ó µîÀ» ¹ßÇ¥ÇÏ¸ç °ú°Å¿¡¼­ ÇöÀç±îÁö ÇàÇØÁ®¿À´Â ¿µ»êȸ»ó¿¡ ´ëÇØ ¸¹Àº ¿¬±¸¸¦ ÇØ¿Ô´Ù. À̹ø À½¹ÝÀ» ±âȹÇÏ°Ô µÈ °è±âµµ ±×°£ÀÇ ¿¬±¸¸¦ Á¤¸®Çغ¸°íÀÚÇÏ´Â Àǵµ¿´´Ù. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ¸¹Àº °í¹Î°ú ¼÷Á¦µµ µ¿½Ã¿¡ ÁÖ¾îÁ³´Ù. º»·¡ ¿µ»êȸ»ó°ú µµµå¸®´Â ¿©·¯¾Ç±â¿Í ¾Ó»óºíÀ» ÀÌ·ç¾î ¿¬ÁֵȴÙ.

±×·¯³ª ÀÌ À½¹Ý¿¡¼­´Â ¿À·ÔÀÌ °¡¾ß±Ý ¼Ò¸®·Î ³ªÅ¸³»´Â °­¾à°ú ¼±À² »çÀÌ¿¡ À¯·ÁÇÏ°Ô È帣´Â ¿¬°áÀ½À» ¼¶¼¼ÇÏ°Ô Ç¥ÇöÇÏ°íÀÚ ÇÏ´Â ¸¶À½À» ´ã°íÀÚ Çß´Ù.

´Ü´ÜÇϸ鼭µµ ºÎµå·´°í, ¿©À¯·Î¿òºÎÅÍ °æÄèÇÔ±îÁö ¿À·ÎÁö °¡¾ß±Ý ¼Ò¸®¿¡ ½Ç¾î¼­ ÀüÇÏ´Â ¿µ»êȸ»ó°ú µµµå¸®ÀÎ ¼ÀÀÌ´Ù.

Ko Yeon Jeong, the first gayageum in the Court Music Orchestra at National Gugak Center, has studied Yeongsanhoesang transcribed in historical scores and revived the tunes one by one throughout her musical career for more than twenty years.

Consistently, she realized the need of compiling her research and came to release this solo album. It was not an easy decision to play Yeongsanhoesang and Dodeuri, the ensemble music, in solo performance.

However, Ko intended to delicately express the dynamics and subtle tones which let the melodies naturally flow. In fact, the Yeongsanhoesang and Dodeuri that only gayageum solely delivers are special because they are strong and elegant while soft and rhythmical.
